WHITEHORSE, Yukon – Victoria Gold Corp (TSX/VGCX) has generously donated $15,000 to the Yukon Hospital Foundation in support of the 2020 NorthwesTel Festival of Trees.
This means the spectacular, must-see Winter Wonderland at Meadow Lakes Golf Club will be extended eight more days (December 16 – December 23, 2020), giving even more Yukoners the opportunity to support our hospitals and share in the spirit of the season amidst the dazzling lights display.

Tickets for the additional dates at the Winter Wonderland will be available 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, and can be purchased by phoning 867-333-3354 or 867-336-3354. Tickets are $10 per group, to a maximum group size of 8. Payment for tickets will be accepted at the entrance by cash/cheque only.
In an effort to ensure that COVID-19 measures are in place, strict physical distancing is in place and will be monitored. Please note that dogs are not welcome on the trail.
McConnell added that his company and employees have been proud to continue their long-standing involvement in and support of the festival, bringing incredible joy to the community while supporting our hospitals.
The company's support has contributed to the success of several fundraising campaigns that led to new technology for our hospitals such as a new state-of-the-art fluoroscopy (video x-ray) machine as well as a Clinical Simulation Centre for Yukon health providers to learn and practice skills that can use right here at home.

About the 2020 Festival of Trees
All funds raised this year will support the Travis Adams Memorial Fund for Pediatrics. This will help make enhancements to Whitehorse General Hospital's maternity unit to increase our ability to deliver care for sick babies and mothers right here in the Yukon. The hospital plans to create a new space on the unit where sick infants can receive life-saving care next to their mothers together – this will mean the very best family-centred care close to home for our littlest Yukoners.
About the Yukon Hospital Foundation
Since 2005, the Yukon Hospital Foundation has supported quality and safe hospital care right here in the Yukon. With the generosity of individual donors, local businesses and the community, the Foundation is able to invest in equipment for our hospitals that support and advance care, including critical diagnostic, surgical and other specialized tools. When the community gives to the Foundation, it means improved (often life-saving) care is available here at home and reduces the need to travel outside the territory.
In addition to the annual Festival of Trees, the Yukon Hospital Foundation hosts several events throughout the year that not only support new technology for our hospitals but also the Yukoners Cancer Care Fund that provides financial support for those being treated for cancer.
Most recently, in partnership with Run for Mom, $900,000 was raised to support a new, state-of-the-art tomosynthesis mammography machine at Whitehorse General Hospital. This machine creates three- dimensional images of the breast, increasing the accuracy and early detection of smaller breast cancers. Yukoners will soon have access to the newest technology for screening and diagnostic breast imaging. The new technology is being installed as we speak with first patient day is set for December 9.
